Head's Welcome
Dear Visitor,
Whether you are an existing family, a prospective family or are simply curious about what St. Andrews, Sukhumvit 107 represents and provides, I hope you find our website enjoyable and informative.
This is my first year as Head of School at St. Andrews, Sukhumvit 107, after being in Senior Management in British schools in Libya, Bahrain, Jordan and England. It is wonderful to be taking over the school at such an exciting time in its growth and development. The past eighteen months have seen significant investment in new buildings, grounds and resources and will ensure the school provides top class facilities and education for many years to come.
The new facilities have been designed with our growing secondary school in mind and include a library, canteen, IT suite, science laboratories, art studio, music room, food technology room and new classrooms. All rooms have interactive whiteboards and computers and are contained in a spacious and attractive self-contained building. Existing facilities include a purpose built Early Years Centre and Primary school, a 25m swimming pool, covered sports area and a large playing field.
We offer a British International Education following the English National Curriculum, which has been adapted to suit our international body and location. Students can take language lessons in Thai, French and Mandarin. The school currently caters for children from 2 to 16 years old who are studying for their IGSCE's. We have also been approved as an IB candidate school and will begin to offer the IB Diploma Programme in August 2012. All our class teachers possess UK or equivalent teaching qualifications and are very well assisted by a large number of support staff. They are a very dynamic team who are committed to ensuring high quality education in an enjoyable, friendly and supportive environment.
I strongly believe that links with the parents and wider community are a big factor in any school’s success. Links inside and outside the classroom with parents allow us to foster relationships and build a sense of trust and team work within all we do. As such we encourage parental involvement within the class and encourage productive dialogue in order to help us to give the best to the children in our care.
I hope this website provides you with a sense of the excitement and energy at our school. The only way to really experience it is of course meeting our team by booking an appointment with our Admissions Manager for a school tour.
Best Regards,
Iain Colledge BEd (Hons) MA
Head of School
