Principles of Learning in the Twenty-first Century

Today’s students are growing up in an age characterised by breathtaking technological and scientific advance, ethical and social challenge and unprecedented longevity. We want our students to leave S107 as independent, sociable, self-aware, principled and employable young people who can make a responsible contribution to the communities they join and participate in tackling some of the world’s challenges.

To provide a relevant and worthwhile education for them requires conviction, passion, judgement and expertise. At S107, teaching and learning is guided by 21st Century Principles of Learning. They inform planning and, in the very best teaching, ‘interleave’ together to give the impression of classroom learning which is smooth, consistent, immersive, and sustained.
