Kate Shaffer

Kate has been teaching since 2011 and joined the St Andrew’s family from an outstanding school in the UK in 2016. In the UK, she taught both Key Stage 1 and Early Years and was a whole school subject lead. Additionally, she was also a teacher mentor, where she trained and supported new teachers to help them achieve their qualified teacher status.

During her time at St Andrew’s she has been Head of Early Years, as well as Reception class teacher, and has also taken on additional roles of Head of Key Stage 1 and PYP Curriculum Coordinator before taking on the role of Head of Primary. She has made strong connections with many of the students and families at S107, and truly understands the importance of family and school connection. Kate is also a mother to two young children who attend S107, a daughter in Nursery and son in Year 1. She is passionate about children’s learning and development and how teachers can best support this.
