Kate Shaffer

Kate has been teaching since 2011 and joined the St. Andrews family from an outstanding school in the UK in 2016. In the UK, she taught both Key Stage 1 and Early Years, held a whole school subject leader role, and served as a teacher mentor—training and supporting new teachers to achieve their qualified teacher status.

Since joining St. Andrews, Kate has held a range of leadership roles, including Head of Early Years, Head of Key Stage 1, and PYP Curriculum Coordinator, before stepping into her current role as Head of Primary. She holds the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) and is deeply passionate about curriculum, teaching, and learning. She leads the professional development programme across the school, supporting teachers to grow and continually improve their practice.

Kate has built strong connections with many students and families in the S107 community and understands the vital role that home-school partnerships play in a child’s success. She is also a mother to two children in the Primary School and brings both professional expertise and parental insight to her role. Kate is committed to creating an environment where all children are nurtured, challenged, and inspired to thrive.
