A Jolly Christmas Fair

Christmas came early to St Andrews 107 when on the 11th December we celebrated the arrival of the holiday with a Christmas Fair. There were games aplenty created by members of the whole school council, a decorating cookie activity organised by the parent group, a puppet show performed for all by the Primary drama group, music from across the school and of course a visit from a very special guest.

The school itself looked wonderful decorated by each class’ Christmas trees and the atmosphere was abuzz with excitement and laughter. Many children and adults were dressed in a Christmas theme, we had presents, puddings, Santa and Mrs Santa in abundance, some elves and even a walking Christmas tree. The parade was lively even though the weather was rather warm.

With Santa himself joining our parade and then inviting all to visit him in the grotto the day seemed complete however the games continued for the secondary children and the grotto was very well attended with the children not only receiving a gift from Santa but also having the opportunity to ask him lots of questions.  Following on from a tasty Christmas dinner cooked by the parents group and school staff on the previous day which was accompanied by music from Secondary band members and a Year 3 choir, the end of term was truly joyful.
